Mattel’s Global Citizenship Report provides detailed information about the company’s environmental and social performance, challenges, and strategies for continuous improvement. One of the challenges in designing strong corporate responsibility reports is bridging the gap between corporate brands and social or environmental issues, which are often complex and may show the company in unfavorable light. We found the connection for Mattel in their core values: Play with Passion, Play to Grow, Play Together and Play Fair. We used these values as the primary structure and navigation scheme of the report to make visible the important link between Mattel’s global citizenship initiatives and its core business.
